Sucré New Orleans Review/Giveaway

July 30, 2013 by Amy 29 Comments

Being from the New Orleans area, I’m so lucky to be surrounded by amazing restaurants and businesses. Back when I worked in the uptown area, I was exposed to a whole new area of small businesses that I fell in love with. Sucré was one of them. I was ecstatic when they expanded and opened a location at the mall in the area. It’s such an inviting place, and I love to drop in almost every time I’m in town.

If you’ve never been, they sell a little bit of everything to satisfy the sweet tooth, like gelato, chocolates, macaroons, cupcakes and other specialty desserts. I honestly could spend some major money every time I go in there, but I try to restrict myself to one treat (except this one time when I went). 🙂

A few weeks ago, the generous folks at Sucré reached out to me to offer a giveaway to you guys. Their 8 pc. indulge chocolate collection, to be exact. I was sent a box to review as well (ok, twist my arm), and I just wanted to share just how gorgeous this box truly is.

Upon opening the box, there’s a chocolate guide and a note from the founder and executive pastry chef. I think that was a great, personal touch, and I really appreciate that there was a little guide in there, so I knew exactly which piece of chocolate to try first. 🙂

The chocolates are gorgeous, which is no surprise. Every truffle is like a small piece of art, and they tasted amazing. The fillings were so smooth and rich. Every single one was delicious. I will say that I wish I tried their wedding cake truffle sooner….I probably would have splurged on these for wedding favors.

One of my main worries with purchasing chocolate goods in the summer is temperature. You can see in this picture that the chocolates look slightly frosty, and that was straight out of the package in the mail. Sucré ships their items in ice chests with ice packs (and dry ice, too), and even in the Louisiana heat, the ice packs were still frozen! They really put a lot of thought and care into shipping their items. Not only were the chocolates cold, but also, not a single chocolate was damaged in shipping!

As I mentioned above, Sucré is generously offering one reader of The Nifty Foodie a box of their 8 pc. Indulge Chocolate Collection.

Disclaimer: Sucré provided me with a box of their chocolate products for a fair and honest review. All opinions are 100% my own. They also provided the giveaway prize.

Can I just order all of their catalog?? I suppose if I have to pick one thing then I’d pick the Summer Chocolate Collection + Summer Macarons. It’s a bit pricy but looks totally worth it.
